Flexible recipe for a tasty pea soup and a broken blender

If we roll back in childhood memories, probably one of them will be when your grandma made you a delicious soup. You know those moments when you need just a light soup with croutons, rainy day and a book /or a movie, depends :)/.

     Last few weeks here we definitely cannot feel the summer mood. Why? Because of the continuous rainy weather. I don't know what is happening with this summer, it's just not summer, its like autumn!
However, I made this marvelous soup from scratch. One night after work I decided that I want soup for dinner. Last time when I made cream-soup was from broccoli and no one likes it. I truly don't know why, and I had to eat it all by myself.
I tried to avoid the same disappointment this time and the soup was from pea. I took a jar of peeled peas, got some carrots and a few potatoes in the fridge.

And later, when I started to make it, I changed my mind and i interleave the soup with all vegetables what I got. And surprisingly it turned out very tasty dish. This is pretty flexible recipe, because you can add whatever you want.

My ingredients:

  • 0.90 lb peas /one jar/;
  • 3 little potatoes;
  • 4 carrots;
  • 1 head red onions;
  • 1.5 cup almond milk;
  • 1/2 cup cream;
  • about 0.25 lb butter;
  • 2 tsp red Himalayan salt;
  • 4 tbsp parmesan;
  • 2 tsp red paper;
  • small bunch of chopped dill;

Preparation:
Peel and cut the potatoes and carrots and put them into a big pot with cold water. Cut the head onions and add it too with the jar of peas. Boil them until tender, so can be strained. When most of the half water has rise, add the butter and the spices and mash the vegetables.

In a separate bowl heat the cream and the milk so we can add them to the mashed vegetables.
I took the Blender and during the first minute of blending, it breaks! OMG! How did that happen? You can't even imagine the look on my face that precious moment! What would I do?

Then I remembered that we have strainer somewhere here. And, you can guess, yes I passed all boiled and half-blended vegetables through the strainer. It was one hour hard work and I did not feel my hands after that, but I was determinated to have the damn soup for dinner.
     So I added the heated milk with cream, the chopped dill and the pinch of salt to the mashed vegetables. Do you know what happens? - The silky taste of the most delicious cream soup! And once you add a few slices of the wholemeal bread with dry tomatoes...

All were impressed and whole pot of soup ended the same night.

Hope you'll enjoy it!
Bon appetit and until the next time!
